On 24^th October 2023 U3A Yarra City’s Ageing Well in Yarra Group convened a Forum ‘Ageing Well in a Changing World’ at Collingwood Town Hall. The purpose of the Forum was to bring together U3A and community groups across the City of Yarra to have input into Yarra Council’s Active and Healthy Ageing Strategy 2024.

This event was jointly run by U3A Yarra City and the City of Yarra Aged and Disability Services.  The U3A Photography Group, Art for All Group, Mosaics and Bonsai groups all exhibited at this Forum.

Councillor Amanda Stone Chair of the Active Ageing Advisory Committee attended and stayed for the discussions.

Speakers included:

• Gerard Mansour – Keynote Speaker, former Commissioner for Senior Victorians

• Peter Moore – U3A Yarra City President

• Lauren Brooker – City of Yarra Coordinator Active and Healthy Ageing

• Susannah Dax – U3A Ageing Well in Yarra Group

Following the Presentations group discussions were held on each of 8 tables of participants.  Susannah Dax, U3A Yarra City Ageing Well Group was the facilitator.

The Report will be sent to Yarra Council for input into their Consultation for the next Active and Healthy Ageing Strategy.
