Our U3A had a wonderful day trip to the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery to see the Archibald Prize finalists exhibition. A great picnic in the park, followed by a very informative tour conducted by Grace, and then an hour to contemplate the art works. Not just checking out the various styles and media but also considering why each subject was chosen, their relationship with the artist and what it revealed about both the subject and the artist. And finally a chance to cast judgement via the Peoples’ Choice.
